Oh Sweet Jesus!!

Jesus Montero, one of the Yankees' biggest international free agent signings from two years ago, is now eighteen years old and playing in the Dominican Winter League. To sum it up, he is tanking (in the good way):
Season G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI TB BB SO SB CS OBP SLG AVG E
2007 Liga Paralela 23 81 18 29 4 0 6 17 51 14 14 2 0 .448 .630 .358 0

For those of you who don't know of him, he is a catcher. Yes. A catcher with an OPS of 1.078. 1.078! If Jorge retires after his newly signed four-year deal is over (which is very likely because he will be 40), Then Jesus will be 23 at the beginning of the next season. At this point he should definitely be big-league ready, and ready to replace Posada as the Yankee catcher for years to come.
