Rangers Aquire Hamilton for Volquez
The Rangers addressed their outfield problems today, trading for Josh Hamilton. To get him, they gave up pitching prospects Edinson Volquez, and 5'7", 150 lb. Danny Herrera (yes, really). It seems like this is a trade setting up a future one for the Reds. Although Hamilton is a solid player, the Cincinnati outfield is already crowded with Ryan Freel, Adam Dunn and Ken Griffey Jr. Volquez and Herrera are not top-tier prospects, but they do give the Reds some more young pitching, which can be used in a future trade for Erik Bedard.
