IFA Season Kicks In To High Gear
It's that time of year again. Shortly after the first year player draft, which consists of players in the U.S. and Canada, it is time for teams to begin signing players not from those countries. Current Yankees who were acquired through this process are Robinson Cano, Melky Cabrera, Mariano Rivera and Jose Veras, as well as prospects like Jesus Montero, Jose Tabata and Ivan Nova. Players can be signed as young as sixteen years old, like Jesus was a few years ago. This year as well as next year figures to have a very good class, so expect the Yankees to be busy. They are one of the many teams who are interested in signing 16 year-old lefty Michael Inoa, a 6'4" pitcher who can already get it up to 94 MPH. The best position player of the class is Yorman Rodriguez, an outfielder.
