The Yankees are currently five games behind the Red Sox, and have six games against them remaining, three of which will be played in the upcoming series. Tomorrow will be Andy Pettitte against Tim Wakefield, Wednesday will be Sidney Ponson against Paul Byrd, and the final game of the series will be Mike Mussina vs. Jon Lester. We obviously aren't throwing three aces out there, but all three of those games are winnable. This will be the biggest of the year to date. A sweep, and the Yankees right back in the race. Even two out of three puts us just four games behind the Sox with a little more than a month to play. The Yanks have been playing well lately, and they need to keep it up if they want to remain in contention.
