2 Pitchers?

The Yankees are planning on trying to get two of the four big free agents this year, Sabathia, Lowe, Burnett, and Sheets. This would indicate that at least one of Pettitte and Mussina will be retiring. I`m unsure about this. If the two are Sabathia and Lowe then I`d be fine with it. Hughes could use the AAA time. However, Burnett and Sheets WILL get hurt. I`m doubtful of this rumor anyway. If the Yankees really want to get their payroll around 180-185 million dollars then it`ll be tough to do this and sign a first baseman.

Yeah I would rather have CC and Dunn/Tex than CC and Lowe

Exactly, plus their IS a limit on the Type A free agents you can sign. I`m not sure if its 2 or 3 this year.

Are you sure about that limit? I haven't heard anything about that but I could easily be wrong.

Mike made a post on it.

The limit for free agent signings is 3 not two. And Type B's are included. However, for every Type A or B you let go you`re allowed to sign another guy.

So, if they`re letting Abreu, Pudge, and Giambi all go then they could sign as many as 6 Type A and Type B free agents. Its not much of a deterrent
