DJ Thames

I love the Yankees addition of Granderson but with him the Yankees brought along his boy, Marcus Thames. Thames has not had the best spring. Actually he has had on the worst springs you can have. Though he is better against lefty pitchers and didn't face too many; a dismal spring still is not the best sign. Right now Thames has 2 hits a single and a home run. He says now he is starting to get back into the swing of things:
“It’s starting to feel comfortable,” Thames said. “It is what it is. I haven’t faced that many (lefties this spring), but I’m not using any excuses. Facing righties, I want to do well against them too, but I haven’t. I’ve hit some balls hard here and there, but getting to see some a couple of days in a row is making me feel a lot better up there.”

Right now it is not looking to good for Thames. Cashman can always go out and pick up another bench player. Marcus has one more week to prove to the Yankees that he can be that guy. Though he defense isn't great Thames can be exactly what we need off the bench.
